I want to say thank you to all of our parishioners who have been so generous with their time and talents to make the Installation this past weekend such a beautiful day. When I walked Bishop Deliman to his car when he was leaving I told him it was a good homily he gave and that he was a little excited to give it. He said, “Yea, I was juiced up. What great parishioners you have.” And we do! We have great parishioners!
Did you know that Jesus in the New Testament never says “thank you” to any of his disciples or followers? I find that odd because the four Gospels record a tremendous amount of good that Jesus does, yet, never once does Jesus say thank you to people. But He does say, “Thank you” to one Person. He constantly is giving thanks to the Father in his conversations (or prayers) with Him. Always giving thanks to the Father.
And for us, that’s what it’s really about. I thank you all for being so good. But more importantly, I give thanks to the Father for you. It is all for the greater glory and honor of our God. This week, let us all focus our attention on the great blessings God gives to us in our parish family. Let us direct the eyes of our souls to our Father in heaven.
May the Lord give you His peace,
