Happy Easter!  We celebrate the very high point of human history today.  Our Lord Jesus rises from the dead as the sacrifice offered by the Father in expiation for the sins of the world now conquers death and opens the gates of heaven for us.  Eternal life with our Father is possible.

These words we have heard before. It’s been drilled into us.  Do we know what they mean?  Does our soul rejoice in this fact?  All of us who grow up Catholic know the bullet points of our faith.  How easy it is for us to simply say - “it’s just another Easter”.  Yet, in the depths of our soul the Holy Spirit moves us to think of this day as not just another Easter, but a day to know of how much we are loved.  A love beyond all telling.  A love that if we truly understood, our hearts would explode.

Forget about everything going on with the world. Forget about politics and pandemics. Forget about the anxiety of family life and the kids.  Forget about Easter dinner with or without family.  Let the world melt away for a second.  The MOST important thing in our life is this day.  The celebration of Easter.  God wants to spend eternity with you.  Does anything else matter?  Rest in this reality.  And when the other things of this world distract us - look at a crucifix.  And know. 

Happy Easter!  Let us celebrate this day together as a family of faith centered around Our Lord.  For He has risen.  He has risen indeed.  Alleluia!
