Dear Friends: this was shared last week with all the members of our school community:
Mr. Joram will assume his duties as principal of Visitation BVM School on July 1, 2020
Dear Visitation BVM Community,
I am excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Matt Joram and I am currently the Assistant Principal at Saint Martin de Porres, a Catholic School in Philadelphia that serves almost 500 students from Pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. I am thrilled to be the next Principal of Visitation and cannot wait to carry on the strong traditions and excellence here.
Allow me to provide a little information about myself. I earned my undergraduate degree from La Salle University and obtained my Masters Degree and Principal Certification from Saint Joseph’s University. I have served in Catholic schools for fifteen years both as a teacher and an administrator. My wife and I welcomed our first child in December, and we have enjoyed watching her learn and grow.
Catholic Education is of great value to me. I attended Catholic School from first grade through graduate school and I have dedicated my career to Catholic Education as both a teacher and an administrator. To me, there is nothing like a Catholic Education and the opportunity to deliver high quality instruction in a Christ-centered environment. The Gospel values that we teach and instill in the students will remain with them for a lifetime.
I will work every day to make sure we are offering the very best in education. While continuing to follow the Archdiocesan curriculum, we will strive to make your children 21st Century life-long learners and problem solvers. I make a daily commitment that we will hold ourselves to high academic standards and challenge all students to work to their greatest potential. Thank you for making the choice to send your child to Visitation. I often say that education is the one thing that no one can take away from you. By working together we will lay the foundation for a bright future.
I know the last several weeks have been difficult having students learning at home while trying to balance all of the other aspects of your lives. I thank you for your hard work and dedication to keep your children engaged and continuing to learn. I pray that you stay safe. I look forward to being able to meet you in person and I cannot wait to welcome everyone back to Visitation and together make it an awesome year!
