NEW VISI SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS TO BE INSTALLED: Next weekend, January 17th at the 10:15 am Mass, the members of the brand-new Visitation BVM School Board will be introduced and installed during the liturgy. At all other Masses next weekend, a board member will be speaking after Communion to share news of the board’s dreams and goals for our parish school. This is a board of specific or limited jurisdiction, meaning that its members share in the governance and oversight of our school along with the pastor—who retains certain areas of oversight that remain his responsibility alone. The school board will work diligently to ensure that our parish school remains vibrant and competitive in today’s educational market, while planning and preparing for its healthy future.
PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS REAPS BIG DIVIDENDS: Before every Mass that is celebrated here at Visitation BVM parish, we pause first to pray for an increase of vocations to the priesthood, religious life, and for consecrated persons. Our parish has over the years experienced the fruitfulness of such prayers, and Visi is either tops or very near the top in producing men who have answered such a calling and remain active priests within our Archdiocese of Philadelphia. I am happy to announce that this wonderful tradition continues as we have a young man of our parish who was recently approved by Archbishop Chaput and accepted into St. Charles Borromeo Seminary beginning next September of 2020. Mr. Luke Baran is currently a senior high school student, and is the son (the second of four children) of Mike & Christine Baran. Luke is in his 7th year as an altar server here, is very involved with pro-life activities & is also part of our youth choir. Please join me in prayer for Luke as he prepares for this coming transition!
