Mission Statement

From this day forward, every member of the Visitation B.V.M. Roman Catholic Parish Family - in union with the Holy Father and our Archbishop - will recognize the mission of Jesus Christ as our own:

Jesus would bring harmony where there is turmoil.
So must we.
Jesus would bring healing where there is pain.
So must we.
Jesus would seek out those whom others might avoid.

So must we.

We understand that each of us is welcome and needed in the life of Visitation B.V.M. Parish. At Baptism, each member of this parish receives a call to holiness, a call to put the gift of faith into action, every hour of every day.

Therefore, if any part of this parish is suffering, we will respond to that call. We will proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all, especially lost sheep.

Together - priest, religious, parent, unmarried person, child, teenager, adult, senior citizen, family, organization or team - we will use our God-given talents to touch all people.

We will continue to be proud of our past and the sacrifices of those who struggled to build our parish. Aware of our unique gifts, we also will recognize our imperfections and pledge to:

  • worship together, especially through the celebration of the sacraments
  • pray together
  • serve all people together, especially the poor and the needy
  • work together through a growing network of parish organizations

Only then can we truly call ourselves the Body of Christ Only then can we "go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to all of creation."

We accept the mission of Jesus Christ with open minds, glad hearts, and humility. And ask the blessing of the Holy Trinity, through the intercession of our patroness, Our Lady of the Visitation.
