Red Cross Blood Drives are held three times per year - twice at Visitation BVM School (February and October) and once at Jeffersonville Golf Club (August). A donor is encouraged to give blood if he/she: enjoys general good health, is at least 17 years of age, weighs 110 pounds or more, wants to help save lives, and has not donated in the past 56 days. Once registration and medical history have taken place, the actual donation takes about ten minutes. A donor gives about a pint of blood when finished. The plasma (liquid part) is replaced in hours, and the cells in a few weeks. After donating, a snack and beverage are served before the donor leaves. If you have questions concerning specific medical conditions please call the Red Cross at 1-800-448-3543. You can also contact Gina Parlanti, the Visitation BVM Blood Drive Coordinator, at 610-222-4460 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further information. PLEASE, 1 PINT SAVES 3 LIVES.
