Sister Diane's Biography

Sister Diane Marie is a Sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth.  She has served in several parishes and schools, including Nazareth Academy High School, Queen of Peace in Ardsley, PA, Sacred Heart of Mary in Baltimore, MD and at Visitation B.V.M. (current assignment)


Sister holds a B.A. in Education and Spanish from Holy Family University, a M.A. in Education and Spanish from Millersville University and a M.A. in Religious Studies from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.  Sister has also taken credits in Administration at Villanova University and at the University of Notre Dame. 


Sister was assigned to Visitation Parish and School in July of 1989.  During her tenure Visitation School has participated in three Middle States studies:  1994-1995, 2004-2005 and 2012-2014.  Each time Accreditation was updated and renewed with outstanding rankings given by the Visiting teams.  The most recent Accreditation was granted in November, 2014 and is effective for the school until December 1, 2021.


Sister has served Visitation as the School Principal for twenty-six years.  Having retired from that position in June, 2015, she now serves the Parish as the Director of Religious Education (July, 2015, forward) and in this capacity, Sister Diane directs the PREP program on Monday evenings, the RCIA on Wednesday evenings, the Children's Liturgy of the Word, Baptismal Preparation for young couples, Homeschool students for Sacraments, Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation (young people and adults).  In addition, she assists with  Adult Faith Formation and other Religious programs in the Parish.  


Sister volunteers as a cantor, an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, a substitute organist and an auxiliary participant in the activities of CYO.  She is a member of Pastoral Council, the Liturgy Committee, the Archdiocesan Music Ministers Organization and the PDCARE group for DREs.  


Writing reflections on the Sunday Gospels for her Congregations' facebook page and writing articles for the Visitation Visitor are other contributions that Sister Diane Marie enjoys making to her Community and Parish.
